Abstract
The article examines the issue of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the professional development of teaching staff by forming an open educational environment. The main challenges associated with implementing AI in education include the insufficient preparedness of teaching staff, ethical aspects of AI technology usage, and data confidentiality. The study substantiates a model of an open educational environment with AI elements consisting of five blocks: target, content, organizational-technological, assessment-diagnostic, and result-oriented. The target block defines the strategic goal of the model – designing an open educational environment with AI elements in the professional development of teaching staff. The content block contains educational modules exploring ways to apply AI in educational activities, including creating learning materials, lesson planning, and knowledge assessment. The organizational-technological block encompasses methods, forms of learning, and tools that ensure the practical training of teaching staff, including integrating cloud services, generative AI, and large language models. The assessment-diagnostic block outlines mechanisms for evaluating the knowledge acquisition of teaching staff, considering cognitive, motivational, activity-based, and reflective criteria. The result-oriented block determines the outcome of implementing this model – the designed open educational environment with AI elements in the professional development of teaching staff. Key components of the open educational environment with AI elements for the professional development of teaching staff are considered, including AI-powered electronic learning materials, online courses and training programs, electronic learning content management systems, other participants in the educational process, teaching methods, pedagogical approaches, and AI utilization technologies, security and confidentiality measures, infrastructure and technical support, AI assessment tools, communication tools, interactive AI technologies, and multimedia AI tools.
