Abstract
The responsibility of teachers for the security of children's personal data remains extremely important, especially given the pace of digitalization of education. The use of online platforms, educational applications, cloud services and other digital tools has become an integral part of the educational process, in which teachers work with sensitive personal data of students (such as names, dates of birth, contacts, grades or medical information), which increases the risk of data leakage. At the same time, cyberattacks, phishing schemes, information leaks and other threats actively affect education. Since children's data is particularly vulnerable and can become the object of manipulation, fraud or cyberbullying, teachers are responsible for their reliable protection. Teachers should set an example in creating a safe digital space, protecting information about students and teaching them the basics of digital literacy, which helps children navigate the world of technology and avoid harmful situations on the Internet. Unfortunately, not all teachers have the appropriate level of knowledge in the field of cybersecurity or legal requirements for working with personal data. This proves the importance of integrating appropriate professional development programs for teachers.
