Abstract

The article examines the main types of activity of a teacher in the distance learning system. The authors emphasize methodical, organizational-management, psychological-pedagogical, teaching and research activities. Special emphasis is placed on the role of information and communication technologies and on the specifics of interaction with students in the online environment. The requirements for the teacher’s qualification and the need to unify approaches to his training are described. It was concluded that the teacher plays a key role in ensuring the quality of distance learning.
