Abstract
The article examines the range of interrelated problems that accompany the current state of general secondary education. The current state of general secondary education is accompanied by reform, the transition to blended (distance) learning, and the introduction of new approaches to learning, which are taking place against the backdrop of the global digitalization of society and the demand for competent professionals who can learn autonomously and master the key competencies and skills of the 21st century. Accordingly, the problem that requires research into the relationship between the need to organize students’ self-study using educational digital platforms and teachers’ ability to organize the learning process is becoming more relevant. To solve this problem, the author studies the essence of educational autonomy. It is found that, given the complexity of the education system, the term educational autonomy can be viewed as a general didactic principle that recognizes independence in decision-making on the organization of the educational process, management decisions on financing, personnel policy, and other aspects of educational activities. In other words, the author regards educational autonomy as academic, organizational, financial, and personnel components of educational activity. The autonomy as a personal quality of participants in the educational process is an important factor in the effectiveness of educational autonomy. This, in turn, requires the teacher to be able to apply innovative teaching methods and solve problems in a non-standard way. That is, to demonstrate innovative competence. These aspects determine the peculiarity of building relationships between students’ educational autonomy and teachers’ innovative competence in the didactic system of digital learning, the procedural component of which is the forms, methods, and techniques of teaching that promote students’ educational autonomy, develop teachers’ innovative competence and provide for the widespread use of digital platforms.
