Abstract
Supportive and developmental AI-based chatbots, implemented as mobile applications or web assistants, are actively evolving and being integrated into practice within the modern information society, particularly in Ukraine amid the profound crisis caused by the large-scale war with the aggressor. Such tools for psychoprophylaxis and psychological support demonstrate significant potential and are finding increasingly widespread application. However, the absence of unified standards for development and operation, as well as a lack of evidence-based design methodology, remain key limitations hindering further improvement and broader adoption of these chatbots. Existing chatbots often lack robust evidence of their effectiveness. Based on the conducted analysis, 16 methodological recommendations for the development of such AI-based applications have been formulated. These encompass automated customization, interactive psychoeducation, the use of gamification elements, habit formation, integration of behavioral principles, and more. Special emphasis is placed on interface simplicity, real-time interaction, and links to crisis support services.
