Abstract

Determining the content of teaching the Ukrainian language in grades 7–9 is an important stage in reforming the educational system of Ukraine. It should be based on modern approaches that take into account both the requirements of state educational standards and innovative teaching methods that contribute to better assimilation of the material and the development of key competencies. Such modern approaches as competency-based, system-structural, activity-based, and personality-oriented make it possible to significantly increase the effectiveness of the educational process.
