Abstract

The purpose of the article is to consider the problems and prospects of effective education of children with intellectual disabilities in the conditions of inclusive education. Methods of searching, analyzing, systematizing and summarizing the researched material were used to achieve the set goal and reveal the topic. The article outlines the main problems of teaching children with intellectual disabilities in the conditions of inclusive education. It was determined that the modern understanding of inclusion consists in increasing the ability of educational institutions to meet the diverse needs of all students, creating an inclusive environment, and not only of certain target groups. It has been found that despite the growing recognition of a broad view of inclusive education, many Member States of the European Agency for Special Needs and Inclusive Education still focus primarily on the access and placement of students with special educational needs and/or disabilities in mainstream secondary education. . Based on the authors' own experience and the analysis of scientific literature, the activities of educational institutions with inclusive education, an analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of teaching children with intellectual disabilities in special educational institutions and institutions with inclusive education was carried out. The peculiarities of teaching children with intellectual disabilities, possible difficulties and needs are highlighted. Based on the review of numerous studies by scientists and practitioners, it was concluded that the basis for teaching students with SEN around the world is the individualization of learning due to their different needs.
