Abstract
The author reveals the main features of the competence approach of Polish teacher education, in particular regarding the professional training of future history teachers. The development of Polish teacher education is analysed through the prism of the competence approach. It is stated that both Ukrainian and Polish studies focus on the innovations in higher pedagogical education in the Republic of Poland at different times, in particular in the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. The article focuses on the scientific prerequisites for Ukrainian-Polish cooperation in the context of the exchange of experience in the field of teacher education, which is one of the main features of the acquisition of pedagogical competences by future history teachers in the process of their professional training. The role of Polish historical studies, which form the basis for the professional training of future history teachers in the Republic of Poland, is noted. An important role is assigned to the competence-oriented methodology of professional training for future history teachers, which integrates systemic, transdisciplinary, axiological, adaptive and other approaches. The purpose of the study is to determine the peculiarities of Polish education regarding the professional training of future history teachers at universities of the Republic of Poland through the prism of the competence approach.
