Abstract
The article analyzes the ideas for the development of school physics education and contemporary textbook creation in the scholarly legacy of the prominent Ukrainian scientist, physics methodologist, teacher, and professor Yevhen V. Korshak. The study highlights that a central focus of Professor Korshak’s scientific contributions is the enhancement of the educational experiment as a fundamental component of school physics education, a factor ensuring its quality, and the basis for innovative methodological systems of teaching physics. The prospects of the approaches developed by the methodologist are demonstrated, including the expansion of the didactic functions of school physics experiments, the application of the differentiation principle during their implementation, the use of multi-level experimental tasks, and the optimal and scientifically grounded combination of experiments with other didactic tools, particularly information and communication technologies. The scientist’s role in the development of procedures for standardizing the content of school physics education, educational standards, and physics curricula is noted, as well as the relevance of his approaches to transforming education based on the principles of learner-centered and developmental learning for the New Ukrainian School. The article emphasizes the significant contribution of Yevhen V. Korshak, as the author of several generations of innovative physics textbooks for secondary school students, to the development of modern textbook creation. It also examines the prospects of leveraging his experience in creating functional didactic support for the educational process in physics under contemporary conditions. The necessity of conducting further historical-methodological research into the scientific and pedagogical work of Professor Yevhen V. Korshak and integrating these findings into the scientific discourse of the theory and methodology of teaching physics and educational practice is outlined.
