Abstract
The article emphasizes the importance of forming an individual’s trust in the world, other people, and him/herself at the early stages of life, and then helping him/her not to lose such trust in today’s most difficult situation. The purpose of the article is to offer some approaches and practical examples that help to build trust and then not lose it during times of war and post-war reconstruction. Basic trust is formed in the early stages of an individual’s life. For successful formation of trust, a big role is played, first of all, by a child’s mother, as well as by other adults caring for the child. It is their attitude to the world, their faith or fears, their fundamental assumptions, as well as their abilities and desire to take care of a child, to take care of the child’s physical and psychological well-being influence significantly the formation of the child’s trust in the world, people, and themselves. Therefore, first of all, several tips are provided for mothers, fathers, and other caregivers on how to contribute to the formation of a child’s basic trust. The level of trust is a rather stable personal characteristic that changes little with age, but there are still methods increasing it. On the other hand, negative, unfavourable events on the life path can shake faith in the benevolence of the world and people, and even faith in one’s own dignity and strength. Unfortunately, all people of our country have been under the pressure of the most alarming of all possible situations for almost a year - a state of war unleashed by the aggressor. It can be said that the whole country is in a state of psychological traumatization. That is why, secondly, we have proposed several methods improving trust, strengthening believe in benevolence of the world and people around, in one’s own dignity, which can be used individually, in order to increase a person's confidence in him/herself; in the work team, to create trusting relationships in the group and build trust in other people; or during group psychological training, depending on the needs of its participants.
