Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of socio-psychological features of the functioning of public opinion in the «family-school» system. It is noted that it is extremely important to study the socio-psychological conditions that contribute to increasing the role of the family as a stakeholder in education and a carrier of public opinion. The structural elements of public opinion are outlined, including: the subject of public opinion formation; public opinion speaker; object of public opinion; discourse; value judgment; communicative space; social space. The functional characteristics of public opinion are disclosed, such as: identifying, integrating, educational, cognitive, managerial, advisory, regulatory, evaluative, consensus, and condenser. It was noted that the effective functioning of public opinion involves firstly, at the cognitive level – ensuring a reliable information connection between knowledge and the perception of social subjects. Secondly, at the emotional-sensual level – the harmonization of the emotional and the rational in the interaction of subjects, this ensures the objectivity and validity of public opinion. Thirdly, at the behavioral level – balancing between the traditional and the innovative in the interaction of subjects, which contributes to the establishment of successful social norms, values and the production of new views and ideas. In the context of studying the peculiarities of the functioning of public opinion in the «family-school» system, the model of the formation and functioning of public opinion by Sh. Arnshtein was applied. This model envisages three levels of civic participation: the level of «non-participation», the level of «symbolic measures», and the level of «civic power». The specifics of communicative interaction in the «family-school» system is revealed using the typology of mechanisms for engaging communication subjects in solving joint tasks, developed by G. Rowe and L. Freuer. This typology reveals the existence of three levels of involvement of subjects in interaction: communication, consultation and participation.
