Abstract
The article addresses the complex issue of the digitization of the educational environment, which encompasses more than just the implementation of digital tools and information and communication technologies in the dissemination of educational content. It is fundamentally influenced by shifts in the conditions that govern social development processes and the socialization of individuals. The discussion emphasizes that within the context of digital transformation, there is a need to reframe approaches to socialization and build relationships within a “person-to-person” framework. It is noted that in the open digital media and information space, children not only gain access to substantial amounts of information but also encounter negative forecasts, threats, challenges, and other dangers–exposures that are often mitigated in an analog social environment through psychological and pedagogical interactions with socialization agents. The article outlines the theoretical foundations of the research and highlights findings from scholars who explore the use of digital technologies in educational processes. The focus is placed on the digitalization of the educational environment and digital socialization, which, as emerging phenomena and concepts, are beginning to gain recognition within the international professional community, though these processes remain underexplored. The article identifies the positive effects of educational space digitization, alongside numerous challenges that may impact individual socialization. It also underscores that a key condition for positive social and personal development, as well as for the well-being of those involved, is the establishment of a psychologically safe digital educational environment.
