Abstract
Attention to the problem of professional self-determination as a prerequisite for the future professional self-development of an individual is due not only to the need for their adaptation to modern socio-economic conditions, but also to the natural need of a person to find their place in life. It has been found that these questions become especially important in high school age, when a person faces an important question - to decide on their future, primarily in the field of their professional activity. Personal self-determination, which has a value-meaning nature, is the main thing in youth, which activates the high school student to define their position in relation to the socially produced system of values, to understand the meaning of their own existence. The article emphasizes that professional self-determination is a process of self-discovery and objective assessment by a person of their individual characteristics, comparison of their professionally important qualities and capabilities with the requirements of this or that profession. This process encompasses the entire period of a person's professional activity: from the emergence of professional intentions to leaving work, permeating the entire life path of a person; this is the process of a person making a decision regarding the choice of future work. Considerable attention is paid to the peculiarities of youth, which is sensitive for professional self-determination. Thus, at a young age, the basis of selfdetermination is personal self-determination, which has a value-meaning nature, activates the high school student to determine their position in relation to the socially produced value system, to understand the meaning of their own existence. Taking into account the fact that in youth the personal future acquires special significance, the chronological boundaries of the life perspective expand, the opinion that the leading factor that causes the inner meaning and success of personal self-determination is the presence of a person with a clear image of their future has gained recognition. It was found that the success of professional self-determination of high school students to a certain extent depends on their awareness or feeling of their "realization orientation", the main direction of personal and professional self-realization. The implementation orientation of high school students as an aspect of life and personal self-determination is reflected not only in the hierarchical structure of the motivational sphere, but also manifests itself in their purposeful actions and behavior, experienced on an emotional level in the form of interest, desire, admiration, vocation, sense of perspective, etc.
