Abstract
The article studies problems when using web-based automated information systems in educational practice. The essence of such systems is revealed, and their role in education is described. Researchers' publications on the use of web-based educational systems, web-based encyclopedias, in particular, are analyzed. The concept of "web-based automated information systems" is analyzed, and their main characteristics are described. The construction of web-based automated information systems using web applications is analyzed. Domestic institutions' experience using web-based automated information systems for the needs of distance and blended learning is analyzed. The best foreign experience of using web-based automated information systems in the educational process is described. The presentation focuses on the description of such experience acquired during the implementation of the educational process, which is covered in both domestic and international sources. The issues of types of web-based automated information systems used in education, their use for learning, data management, and interaction between participants in the educational process are outlined. The issues of the functioning of web-based automated information systems of encyclopedic type and its use in education are analyzed using the example of the "Ukrainian Electronic Encyclopedia of Education." Based on the analysis of psychological and pedagogical sources, the main trends in the development of educational practice in the use of web-based automated information systems and digital educational resources are identified.
