Abstract
The analysis of modern scientific trends in the system of knowledge of age and child psychology allows to determine the phenomenon of psychological stability of a preschool child as a personal quality of development. The authors of the article position the child’s psychological stability as a personal potential that promotes the manifestation of the child’s activity in various situations of interaction with the social, natural, subject-technical, artistic environment. Psychological resilience is considered as a complex personal property, which is manifested in the ability of a person to accept life’s troubles, compare them with his capabilities, withstand the force of the load, and under these adverse conditions to function productively and develop. The formation of the specified personal quality allows the child to maintain openness to the world regardless of setbacks and failures, as well as to improve the mechanisms of development and self-development at further age stages of personality formation. In this way, psychological stability acts as an integral property that enables the child to preserve his essential positive characteristics in all life circumstances. At the same time, in the studies of various aspects of psychological stability, there is no specification of the qualities of the child’s mental development, which characterize the identified phenomenon in the knowledge system of age, in particular, child and pedagogical psychology. Therefore, the relevance of the investigated problem is proven through the definition of structural and functional characteristics of the psychological stability of a child of older preschool age in the unity of growing qualities of an emotional, cognitive, and volitional nature. The article outlines the main terminological categories according to the degree of their relationship and correlation with the main key concept. The essence and content of the key concept of the study "psychological stability" of a preschool child in the direction of personality psychology have been clarified. It was determined that the methodological approach, which most effectively solves the problem of the peculiarities of the development of the psychological stability of a child of older preschool age, is a person-oriented, competence-based, activity-based approach. It has been proven that an expert view of the situation of assessing the formation of a child’s psychological stability in various life situations allows analyzing the dynamics of a child’s personal achievement in the process of gaining and expanding subject-practical and social experience through the prism of the formation of end-to-end skills, emotional and value attitudes, and existing cognitive achievements of the child. The criteria for assessing the manifestation of psychological stability in older preschool children in various situations of the child’s interaction with adults and peers have been determined and substantiated, which allows maintaining integrity in the assessment of the child’s personal development and age-related characteristics of his behavior.
