Abstract

The article analyzes the modern technologies and functionalities of using scientific digital libraries on the example of the Digital Library of the NAES of Ukraine. The creation of scientific digital libraries as distributed information systems that provide the possibility of accumulating, storing and using a collection of electronic documents available in a user-friendly form through global data networks is considered to be one of the most promising tools for information and analytical support of scientific activities. A brief overview of the functional capabilities of the scientific Digital Library of the NAES of Ukraine, created by the specialists of the Institute of Digitalization of Education of the NAES of Ukraine in 2011 during one of the scientific studies, is given. The software of this library allows to define such functional aspects as: viewing all resources, document management, user aspect, registration, entering and searching information resources, administrative aspect. The monitoring (analytics) of the use of the web resource of the Digital Library of the NAES of Ukraine is carried out using the statistical module IRStats 2 of the EPrints 3.3 platform. The website of the Electronic Library of the NAES of Ukraine includes up-to-date statistics on its functioning: general statistics on information resources, statistics on users, statistics on the use of information resources, personal statistics on each user, statistics on the efficiency of the system.It is concluded that scientific digital libraries are important tools in the development of modern science and education. The rapid pace of digitalization makes it possible to expand the capabilities of such libraries, making scientific knowledge more accessible and its processing more efficient.
