Abstract

The article emphasizes that an increasing number of people suffer from excess body weight and overeating, on the other hand, more and more dietary restrictions, sometimes completely unrelated to the real weight and shape of the body, are taking on the character of a pandemic. This problem is especially acute in teenage children. That is why a school psychologist needs to understand this problem, because psychotherapists, as a rule, start working with a child who already has a developed picture of the disease, and a school psychologist (or a teacher) may be the first to see the danger of the development of a disorder eating behavior. The aim is to analyze scientific sources related to the problem of eating disorders and their factors at the theoretical level; at the experimental level, to diagnose the types of eating behavior in adolescent girls, to investigate the relationship between the psychological characteristics of adolescents and their eating behavior disorders. Methods. To achieve the goal, we used the analysis, generalization, systematization of scientific sources, as well as data collection through interviews and surveys: the Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire (DEBQ); Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, RSE; the method of subjective feeling of loneliness by D. Russell, M. Ferguson; Psychological stress scale PSM-25 Lemyr-Tessier-Fillion (Lemyr-Tessier-Fillion). 68 girls aged 15 to 17 took part in the experiment. The results. According to the results of the experimental study, it was established that teenage girls have all types of eating behavior (emotionogenic, restrictive, external). It has been found that eating disorders in adolescents affect the level of psychological stress, self-esteem, and feelings of loneliness. Conclusions. The types of eating disorders in adolescent girls were analyzed. The relationship between eating disorders in adolescent girls and their psychological characteristics has been established.
