Abstract
The scientific work is devoted to disclosing innovative forms of professional development of teachers for the educational subject "Defense of Ukraine". The experience of the educational activity of the CIHE “Kharkiv Academy of Continuing Education” is presented focusing on the formation of educational and methodological competence of pedagogical workers who teach the subject "Defense of Ukraine". Particular attention is paid to the regulatory and legal basis and relevant scientific developments on the specified issues. Based on the practical experience of the Kharkiv Academy of Continuing Education, new aspects of improving the qualifications of teachers/lecturers of the academic subject "Defense of Ukraine" are revealed. The educational program "Peculiarities of teaching according to the new model curriculum of the integrated course "Defense of Ukraine"" was presented, created by a creative group of teachers of the integrated course "Defense of Ukraine" to prepare educators in the Kharkiv region for the implementation of the new model curriculum of the integrated course "Defense of Ukraine". The focus of the educational program content is on qualification improvement and the development of general and professional competencies of teachers of the integrated course "Defense of Ukraine", necessary for implementing state policy in general secondary education. The target audience consists of teachers of the integrated course "Defense of Ukraine" in the general secondary education system. The form of professional development is a series of thematic educational and methodical webinars.
