Abstract

The problem of selecting artistic works and types of educational activities for their study in Ukrainian literature curricula for grades 5-7 has been updated. The main criteria for the formation of program content have been determined. The purpose of content selection is determined: ensuring the effective formation of students' subject and key competencies, the development of their aesthetic tastes, critical and analytical thinking, and their achievement of the expected learning outcomes regulated by the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education.
