Abstract

Information technologies have become a paradigm of social formation. On the territory of education, it is important to rethink the learning processes taking into account new forms of relationships, the use and generation of resources and the assessment of the training of a modern specialist closer to social reality with a wider use of information technologies and communications. In this situation, the question arises about what new skills should be possessed by future citizens, and what are the teachers responsible for the education of these citizens. Digital competence is one of the main skills required by teachers of higher education institutions in the modern digital space. Modern teachers must be elements of change and play an important key role in changing students' educational practices. Digital competence and skills related to it cannot be represented without the participation of teachers and their relevant experience. The acquisition of skills and professional knowledge related to digital competence and it is a necessary condition for the modern teacher of higher education institutions. The rapid development of information technologies activates the constant need to search for new teaching technologies that are adequate to modern trends and requirements of society, which will contribute to the effective development of digital competence of teachers. That is why the article is carried out generalizing analysis of the prospects for the use of 3D virtual environment in the development of digital competence of the modern teacher of higher education, as one of the conditions for successful professional activity of the teacher. The results presented in this paper serve as the basis for further research, namely the possibility of correlation between the styles of information assimilation and subjective curiosity of learning in a virtual 3D environment.
