Abstract
The core subjects of the school curriculum that contribute to the harmonious development of the individual include the subjects of the mathematical cycle: mathematics, algebra, and geometry. Teaching mathematics in the basic and high school system is an integral part of organizing the learning process, and therefore requires clearly defined guidelines throughout it's duration. The goal of mathematical education in the basic education system is to develop the student's personality through the formation of mathematical competence in connection with other key competencies for successful educational and further professional activity throughout life. This involves acquiring a system of knowledge, improving the ability to solve mathematical and practical problems, developing logical thinking and the mental traits of the individual, and understanding the potential applications of mathematics in personal and social life. This paper examines the possibilities of forming competencies such as language, information and communication, as well as competencies in the fields of natural sciences, engineering, and technology in mathematics classes in general secondary education institutions.
