Abstract
Today, after a rapid period of development, artificial intelligence systems have begun to be widely integrated into our lives, including in the educational and scientific environment. This has sparked a new wave of discussion about the importance of academic integrity, due to the new opportunities that AI systems have provided for educators and researchers around the world. The study reveals the main problems and risks that arise in the process of using artificial intelligence services, and which are already faced by teachers and researchers. It is characterized how AI services can be used to obtain results during scientific research and in the learning process. The peculiarities of domestic and foreign ways of fighting for students' observance of academic integrity are revealed. The article also presents the approaches of foreign scientists to solving the problem of academic dishonesty associated with the active implementation of artificial intelligence systems. It reveals what steps universities can take to ensure the ethical and responsible use of AI tools. The stage of development of AI-generated material detection systems is characterized, and how it is possible to determine the use of artificial intelligence services. Methods of honest and responsible use of AI systems in educational and scientific activities are presented, which are already practiced by foreign teachers and which have prospects for further wide implementation in Ukrainian education and science. The practical significance of this study is that its results can be used by teachers of universities, vocational and technical educational institutions, scientists, researchers, graduate students and students in the process of organizing educational and scientific activities.
