Abstract
The integration of interdisciplinary approaches in biology teaching is becoming increasingly relevant in modern education. Given the complexity of biological systems, which intertwine with many other scientific disciplines, the development of critical thinking in students requires a pedagogical shift towards holistic, integrated learning structures. This article explores various strategies for effectively implementing interdisciplinary methods in biological education aimed at developing students' critical thinking skills. The aim of this study is to identify and evaluate approaches that combine biology with other fields such as chemistry, physics, mathematics, and ecology, and to examine how these integrative methods can foster the development of analytical and evaluative thinking. Methods: analysis of scientific literature, generalization, systematization, synthesis. The results of the study indicate that interdisciplinary teaching methods, such as project-based learning, collaborative problem solving, and the use of case studies, significantly enhance students' critical thinking abilities. For instance, incorporating ecological case studies that require knowledge from both biology and ecology, or using mathematical models to study genetic patterns, enables students to approach problems from multiple perspectives. The integration of technologies and digital tools, such as bioinformatics software and virtual laboratories, further enhances the effectiveness of learning by providing an interactive and engaging educational environment. The conclusions drawn from the study emphasize the importance of teacher preparation and curriculum development for the successful implementation of interdisciplinary approaches. Educators must be equipped with the knowledge and resources to design and conduct classes that seamlessly integrate various disciplines. Institutional support in the form of professional development opportunities and a collaborative teaching environment is crucial for sustaining such innovative educational practices. Overall, the research confirms that interdisciplinary teaching not only expands the educational landscape but also prepares students for the complex problem-solving required in real-world scientific research.
