Abstract
The digital environment in which the future teacher is immersed is an integrated communication space in which all subjects of education search, receive, exchange and manage information of various nature with the help of digital technologies. Accordingly, the digital competence of the future teacher implies not only the presence of digital knowledge, skills and their competent application, but also the formation of technological readiness for constant changes both in the field of using these technologies and resources, in the communicative and methodical field of knowledge management, as well as psychological readiness to perceive such changes and interact with students. For example, student engagement online depends not only on students' digital skills, but also on teachers' ability to effectively use digital technologies in digital education and adapt engaging learning theories (such as constructivism and connectivism) to the online context. It is widely recognized that both teachers and students need digital skills to participate effectively in digital education.
