Abstract
The article updates and reveals the essence of flexible learning at the conceptual level, in conceptual interpretations, the main organizational and pedagogical characteristics, which reflect the peculiarities of the flexibility of the organization and the content of learning in relation to time, individual approach and support for student personalization, in relation to the formation of a flexible learning environment and educational space, in particular and on the example of the School of flexible learning and the home form of learning in foreign experience; in the context of current practices of flexible learning for specific target groups of students. The role and potential in this process of the content of the school textbook, structured with consideration, has been updated the main characteristics of flexible learning, in particular regarding the didactic-methodical and social components as non-textual. Flexibility reflects a change in the philosophy of education, the principle of child-centeredness with the dominance of the needs of the child-student.
