Abstract
The textbook meets the requirements of the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education and the current model curriculum "Ukrainian Literature. 7–9 grades" for general secondary education institutions (the author's team under the leadership of T. O. Yatsenko). The publication offers works of classical and modern Ukrainian literature of various genres and genres, concise essays on the life and work of writers, a system of competence-oriented questions and tasks of various levels of complexity. The textbook is aimed at educating competent young readers, forming a humanistic worldview, national consciousness, universal human values and aesthetic feelings of schoolboys and schoolgirls.
