Abstract

The article conducts a monitoring study of Ukrainian teenagers' perception of technologies with artificial intelligence, their concerns, expectations, and ideas about the opportunities and threats that such technologies bring. Unfortunately, the sample was small, and therefore, the results are quite conditional and indicate a certain tendency towards the need to acquire knowledge, acquire skills and abilities to work with AI. However, for accurate conclusions, it is necessary to continue the research, increasing the number of respondents, and develop recommendations for educators and psychologists to minimize the acceptable risks and maximize the probable potential opportunities of implementing AI in the educational process. All questionnaire questions are divided into five blocks: the first: general (name, age, class, interest in the topic); the second: technical (experience in the use of certain AI services); the third: perceptions of AI capabilities (vision of benefits, benefits for humans, improvements or changes, dreams, expectations, opportunities, help in learning); the fourth: general perception of AI (philosophical, existential); the fifth: fears and expectations (thoughts, vision of consequences, safety, attitude to use by the military, etc.). Conclusions were formed as a result of the conducted research: at this time the respondents did not face problems in the process of using AI in their lives, but they assume them in the future; teenagers’ answers indicate a lack of theoretical knowledge about AI in general, in particular, a lack of understanding of the working mechanism, its current presence in the devices they use, etc.; lack of practical skills in using AI in problematic life situations was confirmed; lack of theoretical knowledge about the possibilities of AI for its application in the educational process was proven; inability to practically use of AI in educational and cognitive activities was accentuated. Ways to improve teenagers' attitude to technology and their willingness to use it in the future were suggested.
