Abstract

The article reveals the peculiarities of student’s personal educational requests and their parents regarding the educational service of specialized education in science. Based on the results of a survey of gifted students and their parents, a set of properties of the educational service for obtaining specialized education in science (in the list of 30 items) as expectations and desired norms (current rules) regarding the educational environment, educational process and internal system of quality assurance in a scientific lyceum is identified. The set of basic properties of the educational service for obtaining specialized education in science included those expectations and desired norms (current rules) that were supported by 75% or more of the respondents. It is proposed that the educational service for obtaining specialized education in science, provided by a scientific lyceum, should have a set of identified properties as a prerequisite for ensuring the quality of education, i.e., its ability to meet the personal educational needs of students and the state. It is recommended that scientific lyceums should reflect the identified set of basic properties of the educational service for obtaining specialized education in a scientific field in the charter of the educational institution, as well as in its other internal documents — regulations on the educational process, on research activities, on the evaluation of learning outcomes and research activities, on the internal system of quality assurance in the educational institution, etc. and in the working hours and schedules of classes. The author substantiates the need to conclude a personal agreement or memorandum (for a community of students studying in the same class and their parents in the absence of personal agreements) between a scientific lyceum and a student and his or her parents on partnership in obtaining specialized education in science, to analyze their implementation and to update these documents before the beginning of each academic year.
