Abstract

This research aims to determine whether the use of resources and activities in the Moodle LMS contributes to personalized learning and improved student outcomes. The rationale is based on social constructivism – the pedagogical theory underlying Moodle LMS. The study proposes a conceptual model of the relationships among Moodle constructs that influence personalized student learning: information, resources, activities, communications, and external assessment. Ten hypotheses are put forward regarding the relationships between these constructs. It is expected that the active use of resources, activities, and communication in Moodle will foster better learning outcomes for students and, consequently, higher grades. The research has practical implications for developing personalized learning courses based on Moodle LMS to enhance adaptive learning effectiveness.
