Abstract

The article focuses on the problem of bullying as a dangerous socio-psychological phenomenon and the need to develop mechanisms to counter bullying among children and students, especially bullying facilitated by electronic communication means. The main definitions of research on preventing and overcoming bullying in a digital educational environment are considered. The definition of the digital educational environment is formulated as creating conditions for productive interaction among participants in the educational process, based on the use of digital tools and instruments, aimed at acquiring knowledge, comprehensive development, and self-realization of students. The concept of “preventing bullying in the digital educational environment” is clarified. It is a system of pedagogical actions aimed at preventing manifestations of bullying and cyberbullying among students during the educational process and extracurricular activities. Its foundation lies in engaging students in spiritual and moral values, developing their social and emotional skills, empathy, assertive behavior, nurturing behavioral culture in the digital space, and actively using digital resources and technologies for this purpose. The concept of “overcoming bullying in the digital educational environment” is formulated as a system of pedagogical actions aimed at eliminating manifestations and consequences of bullying and cyberbullying among students during the educational process and extracurricular activities. Its basis involves developing social and emotional skills in students, including a sense of responsibility for their actions (for bullies), resilience (for victims), nurturing behavioral culture in the digital space, and actively using digital resources and technologies for this purpose. Attention is drawn to the necessity of developing the behavioral culture of children and youth in the digital environment, which is a qualitative dimension of their activities, utilizing internet resources and tools for self-development, knowledge expansion, diverse communication, self-expression, fulfilling personal needs, and interests. It is based on adhering to social norms and rules, values of freedom, responsibility, respect for the thoughts and actions of others, and safety (both personal and of others). It is concluded that the defined concepts for studying the problem of preventing and overcoming bullying will guide educators in utilizing appropriate means and methods in their work with children and youth.
