Abstract

Volunteering is an effective way of combining the efforts and resources of society and the state in solving social problems, mobilizing the public initiatives, social consolidation of society, a method of influence on increasing the effectiveness of social policy and, in general, achieving the well-being of society. The analysis of existing scientific approaches to the interpretation of volunteering, its definitions, characteristics gives grounds for asserting that in modern scientific discourse, the study of the phenomenon of volunteering has an interdisciplinary character.
