Abstract

The publication analyzes digital competence in the European educational space. After the European Commission recognized digital competence as one of the eight key life skills, the DigComp (European Digital Competence Framework) was developed as a reference framework to explain the concept of digital competence. The DigComp defines the key components of digital competence in five domains and 21 specific competences. The framework also describes eight levels of proficiency, examples of knowledge, skills and attitudes, and use cases in the context of education and employment.DigComp is designed as a tool to improve and support digital competence and its definition for citizens of the European Union.
