Abstract
The world community has entered a new era, when the labor market no longer needs workers who can only reproduce the previous experience of humanity. Currently, there is a growing demand for specialists with creative thinking, capable of non-standard solutions, who are able to navigate the information space at a high level, and work in unstable conditions. A modern social pedagogue needs to master the latest digital technologies for successful professional activity. That is why the primary task of professional education in the 21st century is the formation of new professional competencies of social pedagogues associated with the rapid development of the digital society. In this regard, another important component was added to the list of professionally significant qualities of a teacher - "information and digital competence".
