Abstract
The proposed manual is devoted to the problem of implementing the applied orientation of mathematics education in gymnasiums. Considered: priorities for the development of school mathematics education in accordance with the concept of the New Ukrainian School, psychological-didactic and methodical principles of implementation of the applied orientation of education, peculiarities of the methodology of practice-oriented education, requirements for the results of mathematics education and their implementation. Modern forms, methods and means of teaching algebra and geometry are considered, taking into account the conditions of the war and post-war state, as well as methodical recommendations for the organization of distance and mixed learning. It is recommended for teachers of general secondary education institutions, methodologists, scientists, as well as teachers of disciplines of the cycle of professional methodical training of future teachers of mathematics in classical and pedagogical universities.
