Abstract
The article describes one of the available biological object for working with gifted pupils and students – coprophilous sac fungi. The study of coprophilous ascomycetes of Ukraine is actively carried out at the Department of Biology and Biology Teaching Methodology of Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A. S. Makarenko within the theme "Coprophilous ascomycetes of reserves and national parks of Ukraine." University students majoring in 014 Secondary Education (Biology and Human Health), 091 Biology of the Faculty of Natural Geography and students-members of the Sumy Territorial Branch of the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine are actively involved in its implementation. This group of fungi is a very convenient object to study, because the collection of material for the study of which does not require any special skills or abilities from the collector. Animal excrements can always be found in different phytocenoses and in different seasons (including winter), collected with or without the fruiting bodies of fungi. Therefore, the researcher does not have to collect the manure samples himself. The latter, if possible and necessary, can be collected by other scientists, environmental workers, local people, teachers and students of local schools and more. Different research topics can be proposed for different categories of students, taking into account their motivation, level of training, interests and opportunities. Study of coprophilous sac fungi on the basis of the Department of Biology and Biology Teaching Methodology of Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A. S. Makarenko allows to involve pupils and students in scientific research, motivates them to in-depth study of biology and present the results of work at the All-Ukrainian and International levels.
