Abstract
The use of digital technologies is becoming an indispensable condition of everyday life for many, the world is undergoing a digital transformation. A key objective of the European Union's digital strategy is to ensure that this transformation benefits everyone, and Europe must adapt to the digital age. Accordingly, digital transformation does not bypass the educational sphere. Digitization in the education sector means the pedagogical use and integration of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the learning process in order to improve and expand education and training and provide students with the necessary digital competencies. In recent years, there has been a more intensive integration of ICT in the learning and assessment process in Lithuanian secondary schools. The number of tablets in schools has quadrupled, the number of desktop computers has almost doubled, all schools have access to the Internet, and teachers are using ICT more often in the classroom and during lesson preparation.
