Abstract

The problem of the contextual study of Ukrainian literature at school has been updated. The tasks of the textbook of Ukrainian literature for the 7th grade of the NUSH were analyzed. It has been proven that the use of historical context in the lessons of studying modern Ukrainian prose contributes to the development of civic and social, cultural key competencies and the formation of a system of concepts about the relationship between historical events and the literary process.
