Abstract

The ever-increasing information needs of users necessitate the construction of a digital information space, and therefore the digital transformation of subjects of information activity. Individual objects that make up the information space are combined into digital collections managed by electronic libraries. The library should act as a kind of filter, selecting and providing users with scientifically reliable, verified, safe information. Ensure maximum relevance of data received in response to user requests. In this regard, the role of describing the digital collection and its elements, providing detailed information about its document content and content is growing. Significant work on creating digital collections has been done by Ukrainian organizations and enthusiasts. There are various projects on digitization of historical and cultural heritage, creation of electronic collections of historical sources, preservation of full-text documents, etc. We emphasize the role of the leading educational Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Educational Library of Ukraine, whose specialists have created a unique industry information resource with a fund of about 600,000 documents, in particular, the digital content of rare publications available through the web portal. The use of digital technologies is a global trend that has significantly affected the form and quality of information presentation for the end user.
