Abstract
The transition of high school to compulsory specialized education involves a number of systemic changes regarding the organization, form, and content of specialized education. The article presents the results of the analysis of the dynamics and trends in the development of specialized training in the biological direction. The number of schools and students covered by the biological profile, the availability of biology teachers who teach profile subjects were analyzed. In general, the percentage of high school students enrolled in professional education is gradually increasing across the country. At the same time, the analysis of statistical data on the functioning of the biological profile of education gives reason to conclude that the last five years have been a gradual decrease of students covered by profile education in the biological direction and currently amounts to 4.2% in the city and 5.4% in rural areas . There are a number of problems that lead to a decrease in the number of students covered by the biological profile of education, which need to be solved. And this is not only the military situation in the country, but also the need to repurpose individual institutions in view of the provision of teaching staff, rejuvenation of the composition of biology teachers, taking into account the requests and inclinations of students, regional needs of the labor market.
