Abstract

The article analyzes the degree of involvement of the world and Ukrainian societies in Internet communications and social networks as the main platform for its implementation; features of communication on the Internet as in a new communicative environment are defined; It was found that in 2020, when most of the world was blocked due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of active users of social networks grew at the fastest rate in the last three years, and the people of Ukraine were no exception to this global trend. The main functions and specific features of Internet communication are outlined; language features of Internet communications in social networks, in particular the world's largest social network "Facebook" are determined. It is revealed that the influence of the new communicative environment (Internet) and new forms of communication in it led to transformations of the Ukrainian language at all language levels, the lexical, morphological and graphic levels undergo the greatest changes. New virtual reality, perceived by speakers as normal, contributes to the emergence of new nominations for new realities of the virtual world, and the release of the speaker's creative potential, the desire for verbal expression as expressive features of Internet communication leads to numerous occasional neoplasms. Spoken form as the main feature of the written language of the Internet accelerates the process of penetration of spoken elements (including newly created and occasional) into the public sphere, and, consequently, accelerates the spread of newly created elements among other Internet users and beyond the Internet. As a result, a new network language appears as a separate variety, and a new form of language functioning – oral and written, the clear signs of which are not only the emergence of a significant number of lexical innovations, but also the emergence of new ways of non-traditional word formation, combining different graphic sign systems.
