Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of textbook usage in traditional printed (paper) and electronic formats in school language education process, taking into account the modern education trends and future prospects. The method of working with a textbook is characterized in the article, the usage of which in the educational process will enable students not only to acquire new knowledge and form the experience of mastering it but will also help applicants for education to get adapted to new conditions of life and learning, use their educational achievements in solving important issues in vital communicative situations, to prepare students for self-learning and self-development, motivate them to develop their skills of self-organization and self-control, analyze their own activities and present their own educational achievements. The article determines the techniques that form the structure of the method used in working with a textbook and their didactic possibilities. Since the model of teaching modern language education is supplemented and transformed in the context of the competency-based approach implementation, the conditions are investigated to successfully organize the work with a textbook and to achieve the educational results provided by the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education. The advantages of an electronic textbook and its usage regarding the clarity and diversity of the educational textbook are highlighted. The user can get acquainted with additional educational texts or media texts, get access to dictionaries, other reference information, watch presentations or video fragments, listen to audio material, etc. The factors influencing the quality of education with the use of e-learning tools are determined. It is noted that for the organization of the educational process in the realities of war, it is acceptable to supplement a printed (paper) textbook with its extended electronic version, which implements the use of a wide range of digital educational technologies.
