Abstract

Most modern psychological theories of mental trauma consider it with one or another emphasis on the fixation of the traumatic experience. For example, such models as the information processing model, the dissociation model, and the cognitive model of PTSD, although they consider different mechanisms (information processes, dissociative mechanisms, creation of autobiographical memory), but they are all different mechanisms of fixing a traumatic experience.However, neurobiological studies clearly show us the leading role of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex in the formation of PTSD, which makes it possible to think about the need to take metacognitive mechanisms into account. This work presents an attempt to build such a metacognitive model of mental trauma, based on the concept of mentalization.
