Abstract

The article presents the peculiarities of the formation of game competence of an older preschool child, which is an important condition for adequate preparation of a child for a new type of activity - learning. It is in the game that preschoolers master other types of activities, important neoplasms arise in the mental and personal spheres, and readiness for studying at school is formed. The article determines that it is the game, the game competence of the preschooler that forms the prerequisites for educational activity.
