Abstract

The analytical review "Foreign experience of restoring education in post-conflict territories, taking into account the impact of the global digital transformation of societies" was prepared to implement the recommendations of the hearings of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Education, Science and Innovation on the topic "Restoration of education in de-occupied territories" (May 25, 2023) (Order of the National Tax Service of Ukraine dated July 6, 2023 No. 30-od). Mainly foreign experience of restoration, reform and development of education in the territories that were in the zone of military conflicts and suffered significant educational losses is covered. Analytical results are structured according to certain criteria, each of which reveals one of the vectors of restoration of the destroyed educational space. The macro-context, which is related to the research of organized violence in the conditions of globalization, is considered, as well as the concept of "new wars" is revealed, in particular, the optimistic and pessimistic lines in the development of modern wars are distinguished. This opens up possibilities for predicting scenarios in which the recovery process will have to be carried out (quick end of the conflict or its long continuation with different levels of intensity). Attention is focused on general approaches to the restoration of education, which is based on the effective management of international aid, the development of effective measures for the reconstruction and regeneration of lost resources, as well as on the search for an effective relationship between national and international influence. New approaches to the restoration of basic and higher education as a driving force for the reconstruction of the knowledge system, which was interrupted as a result of military armed conflicts, were identified. The scientific output was analyzed and the contribution of peace education to the transformation of conflicts, the restoration of peace at the level of social relations was revealed; the theoretical and conceptual principles of teaching peace skills for conflict resolution are considered. A new direction of research related to the global digital transformation of societies is presented, which can be a modern tool for the restoration of education, as it will influence the models of acquiring knowledge in the future.
