Abstract
The article reveals the identification of the level of formation of play competence of older preschool children in the implementation of a comprehensive assessment of the child’s readiness for school life. The author argues that the formation of a child's preschooler play activities – this is the only way to ensure a good start in mastering educational activities. Emphasis is placed on the criteria of game competence by which we evaluated the game invented by the child, namely: the quality of toy choice independence, initiative, ability to come up with a game, game idea and creativity in the development of game idea, game plot, role interaction, rules of play with toy, availability in the narrative of elements of verbal creative imagination. The calculations of the experimental study are presented as a percentage.
