Abstract

The paper analyzes the strategic priorities of education development in the direction of its digitalization. The author considers a number of strategic documents on the digitalization of the education sector adopted by the EU in recent years. In particular, such concepts as "competence" and "digital competence" were defined in the document adopted by the Council of the European Union "European Reference Framework of Key Competences for Lifelong Learning" (2018). One of the priorities of educational policy in the EU is to strengthen the competence paradigm, in particular, the development of digital competencies in students. The article outlines the prospects for digitalization of the educational process, which include the need to modernize the content of curricula, approaches and methods of teaching, in order to ensure the quality of education and strengthen the individual approach to each student
