Abstract
In the article, the authors explore the role of educational technologies EdTech, prospects and risks of their application in higher education institutions. The authors note that in the modern world, technology penetrates all spheres of our lives, including education. It has been established that Edtech is a catalyst that breaks down traditional educational barriers, makes quality education accessible and continuous, and helps prepare future professionals to acquire knowledge through innovation, critical thinking and lifelong learning. The research findings indicate that EdTech offers many unique opportunities for learning and development, but it is important to be mindful of the risks involved. Prudent planning, an emphasis on data privacy, and support for all learners can help minimise these risks and ensure more effective use of educational technology. The authors note that Edtech technologies are widely used for the professional development of students at the Bila Tserkva Institute of Continuing Professional Education and Berdiansk State Pedagogical University - a web portal, a digital ecosystem, and cloud services. In the teaching process, teachers, research and teaching staff and lecturers at the above-mentioned higher education institutions use small group work, interactive projection screens, consultations, project-based learning, and modelling to help meet the educational needs of each student. The authors conducted a survey among the students of the Bila Tserkva Institute of Continuing Professional Education (BIСPE) and Berdiansk State Pedagogical University (BSPU) on the satisfaction and necessity of introducing Edtech technologies in education. The survey found that the overwhelming majority of respondents consider the widespread use of Edtech necessary and note the following benefits: development of their own skills, increase of digital competence, the ability to access educational materials, etc.
