Abstract

The article is devoted to the actual problem of human uncertainty, first of all, in crisis situations, when a person faces new urgent life tasks. The work was performed on the basis of the psychological and hermeneutic approach. A distinction between external and internal uncertainty is introduced. "External" uncertainty is described by the structure "person – situation of informational uncertainty"; internal one arises when there is a situational need to define oneself, that is impossible without a reflexive reinterpretation of one's own experience. A psychological analysis of personal problems in situations of external and internal uncertainty is carried out, their deep connection is analyzed. The phenomenon of internal uncertainty is analyzed based on the materials of the psychological experiment using questionnaires of personality orientation. The analysis of the process of the respondents' work on these questions gave rise to a number of comments regarding the possible conclusions proposed by the authors of the methods. Respondents' reactions to "uncomfortable" questionnaire questions were identified and summarized. The factors of internal uncertainty are analyzed and listed: underdevelopment of some metacognitions (reflection, decentration), lack of certain personal competencies (in particular, narrative one), psychological defense of certain types, resistance of the autonarrative of the individual, etc. The relationship between the problem of uncertainty and identification problems of the individual is considered. The perspective of applying the situational approach to the problem of uncertainty is argued. It is shown that internal uncertainty is a certain brake in countering the challenges of the external situation, in planning further life activities. However, the forced active reinterpretation of one's own experience by the person can become a factor in the growth of his maturity and the impetus to self-realization.
