Abstract
Introduction. Coping strategies used in overcoming crisis situations is an important component of stress-overcoming behavior, or coping behavior of the individual. Aim: to empirically investigate the relationship between coping strategies used by military amputees and their educational and professional characteristics. Methods: the COPE scale (Carver, Scheier, & Weintraub), passport questionnaire, statistical methods (descriptive statistics, correlation analysis (Pearson's correlation coefficient)). Results. It was found that the majority of respondents used active and productive coping strategies such as «coping planning» and «positive reformulation and personal growth», and almost every second respondent used «acceptance» and «active» coping strategies. A significant number of the military used various passive and unproductive coping strategies to avoid solving problems. There was a statistically significant relationship between the coping strategies used by military amputees and their educational and professional characteristics. Conclusions. The obtained results can be helpful in developing military amputees' psychosocial rehabilitation technology.
