Abstract
The rapid development of the digital space requires the creation of a flexible and adaptive education system based on the use of the potential of digital technologies, including gadgets. According to scientists, the active usage of gadgets for educational purposes will contribute to the innovative development of the educational process in the conditions of the formation of digital pedagogy. The article presents the results of a study of the use of gadgets for educational purposes, as well as at the level of everyday life as a phenomenon of the digital society. The authors considered the meaning of such concepts as "gadget" (summarized the pros and cons of their use), "information competence", "digital competence", "digital pedagogy", "nomophobia" and determined the difference between digital didactics and classical didactics, which consists in a shift in focus on the design of the teaching process by the pedagogical worker, changing his role from a translator of knowledge to a designer of the educational process, and, accordingly, on the possession of new digital skills, including the use of gadgets to organize the educational activities of students. The authors researched patterns and reasons for the recent increase in the use of gadgets both in educational activities and for personal, everyday purposes. The research was carried out by applying the method of direct observation and interviewing residents of isolated communities. A comparative analysis of the involvement of gadgets at the household level of teenagers and older people in the cities of Zaporizhzhia (eastern region of Ukraine) and Kamianets-Podilskyi (western region), as well as in the educational process of vocational (vocational-technical) school students, was carried out using the example of a detailed survey in the Interregional Higher Vocational College of Printing and Information Technologies. Scope and delimitation: the study focused on the impact of gadgets on the education of students aged 15−18 years during the mastery of subjects of the professional-theoretical cycle in the process of training future polygraphers. For this purpose, online questionnaires were developed for education seekers, teaching staff and the administration of the educational institution. It has been established that students almost always use mobile phones, sometimes use computers, and rarely use tablets while studying. As a result of the survey, it was found that according to the general indicator of the use of gadgets per day, the population spends 2.625 hours (157.5 minutes) less than teenagers. The study showing that the use of gadgets and relevant digital technologies in educational activities as computer training not managed by pedagogical workers does not give any advantages, because young people aged 15−18 are not ready to independently master various tasks presented on the online platform, to independently process electronic educational modules or watch educational videos. And vice versa, the use of a mixed form, which is based on the support of all operations by a teacher (tutor), leads to greater involvement and learning gains.
